Description
This exquisite vase by Tiffany Studios depicts water crowfoot blossoms, vines, and leaves rendered in millefiori canes, a glassmaking technique in which long, patterned rods of glass are fused and then sliced so that each cross-section reveals a miniature floral motif. These cane sections are embedded within a clear outer layer over a gold-iridescent interior, created by a thin application of silver nitrate to the inside of the vessel, producing a luminous, reflective glow. Accents of yellow and green foliage emerge against a warm amber-and-yellow ground, while the iridescent interior enhances both the visual depth of the composition and the richness of its color harmonies.
